Program Learning Outcome(s):

Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be able to:

  • Evaluate the impact of various educational systems and practices on children's development and learning, considering the effectiveness of family engagement strategies and community partnerships.

  • Design and demonstrate a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive curriculum that integrates principles of play-based learning, positive guidance, and theories of child development.

  • Analyze the historical and contemporary perspectives on diversity and inclusion in early childhood education and discuss strategies to promote an inclusive and anti-racist classroom community.

  • Critically compare different early childhood curriculum models and approaches, integrating knowledge from academic disciplines and children's individual characteristics to plan and adapt learning experiences.

  • Examine the key concepts and practices related to health, safety, and nutrition in early childhood settings, including relevant laws and regulations.
