Noncredit Certificate of Competency in ESL

About the Program

(Not Eligible for Financial Aid) The Certificate of Competency in ESL is a sequence of noncredit ESL courses that takes English language learners from basic skills to high intermediate proficiency in preparation for their matriculation into credit courses.  The program provides students with the foundational language proficiency for various career fields or to matriculate into General Education courses.  This certificate program requires 110 hours of attendance over at least two academic semesters as well as the successful completion of at least two courses in the ESL sequence, one of which must be ESL 304.
