About the Program

(Not Eligible for Financial Aid) This certificate will prepare students to perform basic skills in hairstyling and haircutting. In addition, demonstrate the ability to perform the basic analytical skills to perform relevant skills for an entry-level position in Cosmetology.  The student will be able to demonstrate hairstyling and haircutting skills, safety and sanitation, communication and soft skills, and knowledge necessary to pass the State Board exam successfully. Upon completing the training, students will gain competency in entry-level job positions as a hairstylist or related career goals.

Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be able to:

  • Safely and accurately use all equipment and products relating to the industry.

  • Demonstrate the most current methods and procedures using professional tools and equipment.

  • Apply necessary health and safety rules.

  • Demonstrate appropriate communication skills.

  • Demonstrate an orderly performance of all tasks and skills in hairstyling and haircutting establishing methodical habits without sacrificing artistic skills.
