Student will gain fundamental knowledge of the factors affecting wildland fire behavior, control prevention, and firefighter safety for entry-level employment with a federal agency wildland firefighting crew.

Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be able to:

  • Describe wildland fire behavior.

  • Describe safety tactics to be utilized in fire control operations.

  • Develop a basic fire operations incident action plan and demonstrate skills of wildland fire suppression.
